Alrighty then, these will be the pages for  the project
build up process. From here you can follow the
buildup with pics and comments of what is going into
the bus and who is doing the work. Feel free to copy
the pics and paste them on any other forum board
that may be interested in the project.

The bus being used as the basis for this build is the old KCW "shop truck"
John Jones was building this one for himself and got put on the backburner.
It sat for awhile and I guess John lost interest. He called fellow LVVWC member
Kevin "pigpen" McCain to see if he was interested in the project. Kevin, always
looking for a bucket to buy, said yes and went to KCW it pick it up. He brought it
home and it sat for a couple weeks before he decided it wasn't for him and posted it
for sale. A deal was made to an out of state buyer. After going the Kev's house and
seeing the project in person, I realized this was the same bus as on one of my T shirt
designs and was dissappointed I had let this get away. Kev told me the deal fell
through and the bus was still for sale. Having no dinero to pay for it I told Kev I was
gonna go home a list my blower, off the Boxrod, on the Samba and would buy it off
him. His ears perked up and he said he would take the blower and $500 and the bus
was mine. The rest will be history as we try to build the fastest bus ever. Thanks to
John and Kevin for givin the 'bro deal' to make this all happen.
April 2006. This is the earliest pics I can find on
the
KCW website. The bus is on jackstands with
wheels mocked up to get the look.
Almost as cool is the "Donk" style.
If they had one nut in their sack, they would have
done it.
Starting to put some of the engine compartment
back in. Decision was made to make it into a
barndoor look bus from the back.
Torsion done, frame notched. From the dates on
the pics all this was done in about two weeks.
At this point its's a roller. those are some 10 inch
Porsche wheels !!! These boys do not mess
around. Notice height of motor.
One of the KCW guys burning some steel. Not
much left back there. Torsion housing getting
raised and narrowed
Super slammin a bus aint easy. If it was
everybody would be doin it. Getting ready to get
hammered.
July 2006.This is how it ended at KCW. Slammed
roller. The wheels didn't go with pigpen when he
bought it from John. That shit looks goooood.
Not pretty but taking shape. Notice the back door
being welded in and the amount of work to
convert the decklid area.
This is how the rear turned out. What a difference!
I recieved a real barndoor deckild with the bus,
but probably won't use it. Big window BD. Rare
